Fork in the Road

Writing about feminism, relationships, gender, identity, fiction, poetry and life by a Bay area questioning, sarcastic, warm-hearted, tech diva who was once married and monogamous for many years and then took a new fork in the road --a much more interesting and unpredictable fork.

Is that girl emily a hoax?

So metafilter and gawker suggest what is probably true--thatgirlemily.blogspot.com is most likely some kind of marketing hoax, a pitch for a film or a soft drink or whatever, with a blogger who's taken the trouble to find analgous *real* blogs and post comments on them.

If this is the case, and I suspect it is, a new circle of hell should be created for the people behind this, one in which their spouses may be cheating on them with their best friends, but it doesn't matter because all their own sexual parts have withered and fallen off, and their noses have swollen to enormous lengths, matched only by the rheum in their glassy red eyes.

Damn you, you hucksters--how stupid are you? Answer: Pretty damn stupid.

--But you fooled me.

More affair emails

This one really hurt--it's from a few days ago:
Dearest T:

Thank you for a wonderful celebration last night.  I'm excited

about the job - a new beginning.  And I'm so happy to be

sharing the excitement of a renewed life with you.

I hope you got some sleep (maybe even during this morning's meeting).
Good luck with your reviews today, precious one.
All my love,
J

the hard shell is discarded
The mussels float out into a milky sea
The hands that once
crushed
the small herb leaves
only made the flavor stronger
