Fork in the Road

Writing about feminism, relationships, gender, identity, fiction, poetry and life by a Bay area questioning, sarcastic, warm-hearted, tech diva who was once married and monogamous for many years and then took a new fork in the road --a much more interesting and unpredictable fork.

I can't believe I just ate that

Doughnut I am having a VERY stressful day at work and I just totally blew my diet. Yes, I ate 3 doughnuts! This is living in sin for sure and I am going to fattie hell.
UGH.  Bread and water for you tonight, S.

What I learned about cheating

So I was at a big party yesterday, filled with wonderful foods and tons of champagne.  I'd kinda decided that I would eat off the plan--watch myself--but basically cheat.  So I made my way, very selectively, through the roast turkey, corn pudding, stuffing, fresh raw oysters, yummy cheese and persimmons and home made lemon bars, eating--not alot-but a taste of everything. And then there were the sips of 5 different kinds of champagne!

It wasn't a pig out, but it wasn't austere either--only after the evening ended, I found myself getting sick--apparently a side effect of being on a low calorie meal replacement shake type diet is that your body loses tolerance for rich food (like stuffing). Puke city.

I now have a new deterrent to full blown cheating--puke, nausea and general sick up sick, Ugh. Feeling far more motivated now--as an avoidance mechanism--to stay on plan.
